The Mangos

The Mangos are a New Jersey shore institution formed on the heels of the legendary NJ band, “The Southern Cross Band”.  “The Mangos” are led by singer, songwriter, musician – Joe Prewitt, who has performed with countless major recording artists such as; Greg Allman, The Band, Charlie Daniels and Dolly Parton just to name few.

“The Mangos” have since been rockin’ the Jersey shore for over 20 years.  Their music is primarily in the Southern Rock vein but “The Mangos” often venture into other influences such as R+B, Blues, Jazz and other classic rock sounds.

Last but definitely not least, “The Mangos” have a fabulous collection of original music written by Joe, many of which are major requests and crowd pleasers at the live shows. “The Mangos” have just released their new CD consisting of new material as well as remakes of some older Mango favorites.  The title is, “Ain't Dead Yet!”.

Joining Joe are;  Sonny Prewitt (Southern Cross Band - Micropolis) on guitar & vocals, Jimmy Jett on bass & vocals, Charlie Mills on drums.  Also, at any given Mango show, any number of “Mango All-stars” may be on hand to add to the musical festivities.  “The  Mango All-stars” generally consist of Duane “Swede” O’Hara – percussion, “Father” Joe Flannigan – saxophone & flute,  Frankie G – Bass, Tom Connelly – harmonica, The Jersey Horns, as well as many other talented friends.

For a guaranteed great time and great music, come out with your friends.
